Fidelity Investments, a multinational financial services company, plans to establish a regional U.S. customer service site in Greenwood Village that will employ up to 500 people, the company said Monday.
Boston-based Fidelity has leased 100,000 square feet in the Fiddler?s Green Office Center in Greenwood Village and is in the process of outfitting the space. The building is owned and managed by the John Madden Co.
?The Denver site will become an important hub for Fidelity and will ensure that the firm can continue to offer the highest level of customer service 24 hours a day, seven days a week,? the company said in a statement.
The company is hiring now and expects to have the center open sometime in the second quarter of this year.
?Colorado has long been a magnet for the financial services industry and these new jobs will continue to strengthen the vitality of our business community,? Gov. John Hickenlooper said in the statement. ?Fidelity?s expansion will be mutually beneficial for their employees, customers and the region.?
The company cited metro Denver?s highly educated workforce, attractive business climate and a positive quality of life as among the reasons it choose the city for the site.
?Fidelity is pleased to be in Denver and we view this as a great place to grow and thrive,?
Kathleen Murphy, president of personal investing for Fidelity Investments, said in the release. ?This new site will enable us to meet the increasing demand for the reliable guidance and education Fidelity is known for providing.
Fidelity Investments ? also known as FMR LLC ? had $3.8 trillion in assets under administration and $1.6 trillion in managed assets, as of Oct. 31, 2012.
Founded in 1946, the company has more than 40,000 employees globally and provides investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing and other financial products and services to more than 20 million individuals and institutions.
